
The TRTF seeks to support the growth and development of high-tech, life-science and biotech industry sectors in the City and County by providing early-stage investment capital and commercialization expertise. Alamo Angels plays a vital role in the investment ecosystem by providing a forum for early stage investors to provide direct investment on an individual level or through their Syndicate Fund.
The TRTF has invested in 31 companies through the McDermott Fund. Alamo Angels has invested $1.2M in 12 companies through their syndicate fund. TRTF recently integrated the Alamo Angels entity into its family of businesses. The Direct early investment focus of Alamo Angels combined with the resources and expertise of TRTF will create a more direct pathway for success for these companies.
Currently, the TRTF has many stakeholders in the community and region, including the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, the University of Texas at San Antonio, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the Texas Biomedical Research Institute, the Southwest Research Institute, Geekdom, Trinity University, Institute for Surgical Research, and various other military medical commands that have all brought forth investment opportunities for the TRTF.
